It is a fact that she can only walking backwards normally after it and thats what the title is saying the title is describing what happened to her after she got that flu shot. It is not like the title is "flu shot makes people only able to walking backwards normally"

And like I said before, you wouldnt expect people with severe parkinson to be able to dance without any problems or symptoms as well. Then why does that happen? The brain is incredibly complex and we dont even know half of how it works. But once you start to read more about neurological disorders youll see that this isnt really that weird as it looks.

from what i read it is uncontrolled muscle spasms and movement, walking backwards seems too controlled
i do not know how people with parkinson are able to danc so now what? give her another shot to fix it? not report it in such a fashion that makes it seem that she just started walking backwards form getting a flu shot and scare everybody from getting them? or wait until the next things interests the public like balloon boy or the Mexican Swine flu and ani-eden this is american news, they spin everything to make it look a different way, why wasnt it tittle Girl with ultra rare neurological disorder can only walk backwards after flu shot, it was titled for a reason |

I'm sorry, what exactly is it that you find so unbelievable?
They aren't scaring anybody with this report. Dystonia is an extremely rare disease, it's not like everyone who gets a flu shot will suddenly start walking backwards. What you're saying just doesn't make any sense at all. She does get muscle spasms and movement, which is why she can't walk forwards. The reason to why she can run and walk backwards, we don't know. Are you studying neurology? I'm not, and I don't know much about the brain which is why I'm not saying it's unbelievable. Don't claim that it's fake if you're not 100% sure. There are professors from University Neurology sections that are backing this up, are you saying they're lying too? Anyone who actually watches the report would know that it wasn't the flu shot itself that gave her the problem. No one would be scared by a title without watching the content. There is not "What next". It's done. She's going to have this disease for the rest of her life, or until they find a cure. And you're calling it fake that she has to live with such a horrific problem.

muscle spasm and movement problems im alright with, it just the whole walking backward thing i cant get over, thats what i am having trouble beleiving
and yet just a few posts above some one said, i dont want to get a flu shot now, im scared of what would happen just the trigger seems out of place for what happened, i mean she has had dozens before why werent they the catalyst people have lived with worse, im sure she will be fine, she can still function in normal society without much of a problem |

Obviously the title of it all is just to get peoples attention. 'Cheerleader can only walk backwards after flu shot' just sounds infinitely more interesting and eye catching then 'girl can only walk backward after getting an extremely rare neurological disorder'.
The first title appeals to about everyone who wants to read a interesting story and the second title only appeals to people who read a neurological journal. That means, professors and stuff. And yeah, shes stuck with this for the rest of her life. No way we can currently fix this. And this isnt something you get around easily. She has trouble sitting, walking, talking and her career as a cheerleader is crushed forever.

well she can always get a wheel chair and still function that or relearn to walk im not saying this would work but if everything is reversed, than if she thought she was walking backwards would she walk forward?

It doesnt work that way. Her brain is sending random impulses to her limbs which causes her to spasm uncontrolably. That also fucks over any motor function you have as these signals basically disturb the normal signals by sending in to many or the wrong ones. Sufficient to say, almost any form of normal movement is near impossible.
The reason why she can walk backward or why she can still run is because I believe both walking backward and running require different parts of her brain. When she uses those her damaged part of the brain gets some rest and doesnt send out anymore signals. That causes her to be able to just run and walk backward without any problems, she just uses parts of her brain that arent fucked over. And no, thinking your walking backward while your walking forward doesnt work that way. Almost every action uses a small part of the brain. Its not your entire brain thats working when your typing, just relevant brain areas. Same counts for walking, it only requires a certain part of the brain. Also, you cant just reverse your entire brain. Thats impossible.

different parts or different combinations?
walking forwards and backwards have to use similar portions of the same brain, if they can make a brain reader that that can detect which ones she uses while walking in both direction it might be possible to determine what got damaged, also what about moving in lateral directions were those messed up as well? it helps alot to know what got damaged to see if it can be fixed |

And the point is that its impossible to detect what parts got damaged and what parts didnt. We dont know enough about the brain to say for sure. And opperating and cutting out that damaged piece of brain is the only possible way to make the spasms stop. Buuuut, doing so might completely paralyze you, or do even more damage.
