God is dead, and the end is coming unless the fallen angel Alexiel can reawaken and prevent it. But years ago, as punishment for her defiance to god, Alexiel's body was sealed in a crystal, while her soul is continually reincarnated as a human being that will die a young and violent death, again and again, as an outcast from society -- despised and rejected. This time Alexiel's soul have been reincarnated into a delinquent teenaged boy named Setsuna Mudou -- the Messiah prophesied to save humanity in the Black Book of Revelation. However Setsuna does not care for the coming battle between Heaven and Hell but only for his love... his blood sister Sara Mudou. Beginning the story of angels, demons and a lost God.

In general I liked this anime and its dark tone.
The sibling love adds an unexpected & nose-wrinkling twist, but the somewhat comical cross-dressers make it worthwhile. The story for the most part is a series of painful events interlaced with reincarnation and other weird s#*t.
The quality of the first episode is horrid, but that does not reflect the quality of most subs on this site. The anime itself is pretty old and is thus a little slow and almost boring. For its time tries to be a little avant-guarde, but still its best to watch on a rainy day.

phantasmogorical really made me want to read the manga, which is why the author only made three 3 eps.......and the manga gets complicated pretty fast, fyi
It's good if you have nothing better to do.
The art is Beautiful! But it makes you feel disturbed with the brother/sister love/sex. The plot is not fully realized but what they did do is interesting.
Don't get me wrong I liked it enough to help sub it (not this version, I don't know what's up with this one) but than again I like pretty pictures. Especially pretty Boys. LOL!
I only recommend if you are ok with sibling love and are looking for pretty pictures.

Amazing
This anime is unlike any other. For those of you who are narrow minded, i'm sure this will be an anime to really challenge your perspectives. This anime makes you think. And you have to LOVE and understand myths, and have studied them carefully, for you to like this anime. If you are into mythology, then this anime will make sense to you, but if not, and on top of that, very narrow minded, you'll be a VERY confused. But all in all, i absolutely LOVED it.

this is quite strange, disturbing, even. You might like this anime if incest turns you on.. (gross, i think i'm gonna hurl...) It has good story but the incest thing is just too much... so a 3/5 of a good rating... (what!? I accidentally gave it a 4/5?! not again! maybe this means something? *realize*):p

Although this was a kinda good anime, it was very weird in my opinion, and well I didn't like the ending at all.

i love anime but that don't mean i just watch any thing out there
Maybe my mad love for the manga makes me biased, but the anime makes me cringe. I could not enjoy it. The art is ugly, as are the voices (in both the Japanese _and_ the English). It doesn't get across the characters and their relationships well at all. It was supposed to be six episodes long, but I'm _pretty_ sure that Kaori Yuki asked for it to be cancelled because it was so bad (I haven't heard this from an official source. It was supposed to be six episodes, but as far as I know, speculation on why it wasn't isn't positive).
Honestly, the anime is one of the worst I've ever seen, but the manga is my favourite manga of all time. I highly recommend the manga. The anime, not so much.
