Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz Review

Reviewed on May 29th, 2006

Visually

Endless Waltz looks good, it's bright and vivid. The best part of the movie visually is its action; it's bright, full of contrasting colors, and its fluid. The Gundams are also awesome, which is also one of the best parts of the series.

Audio

One of the best soundtracks of any anime, the music fits the part where it's inserted. In the action and tense area of the movie there is strong and vibrant music; in the quiet calm parts the music is also quiet and calm. The voice acting is also superb.

Storyline

It has been a year since the end of the war and peace rules all. The Gundam pilots have decided to get rid of their Gundams, so they send them into the sun. Only one person decided to keep his Gundam and that is Wufei. But peace can't last, Mariemeia Kushrenada, the daughter of Treize Kushrenada (who was killed in the series by Wufei) has declared independence of the colony L3X18999. She also declared war on the Earthsphere unified nation. So now Quatre has to get the Gundams back. Also we see the return of Zechs Merquise, who also fights against Mariemeia. Wufei has decided to join up with Mariemeia, because he believes that the only way to keep peace is to keep weapons and fight for it. There are many battles in the movie, which are all very awesome.

DVD

The DVD includes two versions, the movie and the OVA version, which differ slightly. The extra include Mobile Suit Encyclopedia, picture gallery, text less endings, and Extra footage. The movie and sound quality is good, but there are reports that some disks are defective.

Overall

This is a great anime movie, which any Gundam Wing fan should pick up. You might not want to pick this up if you have never seen the series, for you may get confused a little. A good thing to pick up also would be the soundtrack, because the music is awesome. The movie is not rated but it's about PG-13. I give Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz 5 out of 5.
