.hack//Roots

In 2015, CC Corporation`s datacenter caught on fire destroying "The World". By splicing in data from what would have been another project, CC Corp. was able to rebuild the game. In 2016, "The World R:2" was released. .hack//Roots covers the time Haseo spent with Shino and Ovan in the guild known as the Twilight Brigade, before the .hack//G.U. PS2 games.

Better than average...

I wish there was a 3.5 rating, but this series is the best of the .hack//s, but like all the others...it has a shitty ending, and I don't care if you have to play the game for the ending. It's still terrible for an anime.
The plot is captivating, the characters are amazing, and the art is great.

I actually started watching this because I found Ali Project (the group that does most of the music) first, and loved them. so i figured any show that their music was set to had to be awesome. Well, its entertaining to say the least, even if you dnt know the games that well. So I'll say give it a watch and/or make yourself familiar with this series gaming background first so you know what the heck theyre talking about most of the time. This is basically a prequel to games, but at least know something about why this series exists.
Also Haseo makes the entire show of course, if it werent for him I'd be bored ^_^ so cute!

okay, this is gonna be hard for me to rate.
this anime shows what happened to haseo before the g.u. series like what ATEMISC wrote. thx man, i have less to type now ^_^ thx Nyuu Nyuu~

this anime had the purpose of showing what it was like when haseo first joined the twilight brigade and what made him be driven to almost complete maddness.

this anime was actually meant to be used as a form of advertisement for the G.U. series as the story continues after the G.U. series., so this anime dosent really have a fully developed plot structure.

but, i do say that they did a good job in not only improvising the gap that they had between roots and signs, but the gap between roots and the GU series.

this anime is alright because it shows how haseo was persuaded to join the twilight brigade, about a bit of the existence of AIDA, and a tinge of the viewing of tri edge and the ezekiel knights made by aura.

not to spoiler you all because most of my reviews are spoilers, ezekiel knights will only be seen at the last part of the anime.

overall, this anime did a good job in tying up the loose ends between signs, roots and G.U. and i think that they should have thier efforts commended.

Baka chan sends his regards to all who actually bothered to read through this long review...

Great.

Loved it to death. But I only have one thought. I can't help but wonder if we'll ever see .hack//GU Returner fansubbed. And yes. ROOTS was made solely to tell what happened to Haseo in the beginning up until the GU games. At which point, the story continues.

This anime only served the purpose of the prequel to the game, play the game then you will know what happens
