Awesome storytelling

This has to be one of the most imaginative and compelling works of fiction ever. Not just manga. I was completely blown away by the sheer scale of the story as it tracks along 2000+ pages of revenge, hatred, friendship, romance in a rollercoaster ride of extremely well drawn imagery. The mangaka incorporates everything in the story to form one giant masterpiece that is great to look at close up, but takes a whole new form when we take a look at the whole picture. Definitely on my top five mangas and a must-read for any fan of sci-fi/dystopia/post-apocalyptic works.

This is so full of darkness

I've watched the movie,and it scared me shitless back there,10 years ago,when i was still a child.
And it is one of the best movies,that i have watched in my life,and now i'm going to read the manga,and i know that I will enjoy it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Great One

I live in Indonesia and Akira is one of the first mangas published here, back in the early 90's. It feels kinda nostalgic as I can have it back, because I lost all of my collection. So thank you so much for provide it here.

Truly an epic

The single greatest manga I have yet to read, and I doubt that it's going to be replaced anytime soon. The art ages well, and the story is unique enough to separate it from the usual teenage love story babble. This is what manga was meant to be, and what it should strive to once again become.

this is one of the best manga's out there today. and it does infact put Naruto, bleach, yugioh and all that other crap to shame. if you want to read a true manga this is it
